Rolls-Royce Edinburgh - 1939 Wraith Limousine "Octavia"
A Timeless Celebration - The Rolls-Royce Wraith was produced between 1938-1939, with just 492 cars produced.
Originally a Scottish term, Wraith meant a spirit, and befittingly, this particular example was delivered new to a Scottish client after Mulliner completed the body.
A unique example, and believed to be the only purpose built Wraith, for a disabled client – the rear seat swings around to the door edge, to allow for an elegant entrance or exit, from the vehicle. Again, an example of innovation, and demonstrates the willingness or Rolls-Royce to take the best that exists, and make it better.
After discovering this special history, the previous owner undertook a no expense spared restoration of the vehicle in the 1970s as it was a cause close to his own heart.

I had stopped at the entrance to Edinburgh Castle to snap some pictures when this Daimler Limousine arrived. No idea who was in, if it was royalty or not because a stupid tourist woman stepped right in front of me to take her picture as it passed right in front of me.

Rolls-Royce Edinburgh - 1936 Phantom III Touring Limousine
A Timeless Celebration - The Rolls-Royce Phantom III was the final large pre-war Rolls-Royce, and was the only V12 Rolls-Royce until 1998’s Silver Seraph. Just 727 examples were produced.
Historically irreplaceable, the Phantom III was the last car that Henry Royce worked on - he died, aged 70, a year into the Phantom III's development.
A unique example, this vehicle was delivered new to a Mill Owner, and Mayor of Brussels. Originally the bodywork on the car was completed by Vesters & Neirinck, but was damaged beyond repair during the War.
A Barker & Co coachbuilt body was found, from a car also damaged, but from the same chassis production line, meaning every bolt on the vehicle aligned perfectly.

London to Edinburgh Top Gear Trial
History literally repeated itself as #RollsRoyce Silver Ghost 1701 re-enacted its astonishing run in the 1911 London-Edinburgh Top Gear Trial.
The Silver Ghost is arguably the most famous Rolls-Royce model of all time. It was through its success in the early trials of speed, reliability and endurance that it earned the marque its reputation as 'the best car in the world'.
Winning the 1911 London-Edinburgh Top Gear Trial was a landmark moment for Silver Ghost 1701: that the same car, now a priceless collector's item, and wearing registration R-1075, can repeat the endeavour 110 years later, is testament to its remarkable engineering, materials and build quality.
To add to the spectacle and sense of occasion, 1701 was accompanied by a further ten magnificent Rolls-Royce cars including #Gh...

Finished in Black over Royal Blue, with Cream Upholstery to the rear, and black leather to front.
Cars based on the Wraith chassis could reach 85 mph (137 km/h); this was very dependent on the weight and style of body fitted. In one test by "The Motor" magazine in October 1938, a 0–50 mph time of 16.4 seconds was recorded.

We would like to thank the Edinburgh owner of the vehicle, for allowing us to display his pride and joy on this special evening.
